From The “Cantor”
Hi,
My name is Tom Burns and I am
classified as a 100% disabled Veteran. I was hit in the
head while serving in Vietnam during the TET Offensive
in 1968, and it paralyzed my left side.
-Now that’s the bad news-
The good news is my name is “NOT” on
the Vietnam Memorial known as the “WALL” located in
Washington DC. There are however some 58,000 plus names
of American Service Men and Women on that “WALL” who
were not as lucky as me, and made the ultimate sacrifice
in Vietnam.
God took away half of me—but some
person say “HE” gave me a little gift in return (my
voice). –Every now and then someone tells me I sound a
little like “Elvis” – Well – you can’t get a better
compliment than that!!
I just want you to know that this is
the only was I know to try and repay “HIM” for giving me
a little more time to experience the wonderful things
“HE” has made available for us in this life – Like LOVE,
FAMILY, and FRIENDSHIP.
I hope you will enjoy the music, and if
you know someone who is feeling a little down and sorry
for themselves – just remind them of the old story about
the man who felt bad because he had no shoes – until he
met the guy with no feet!! I’ve met that Guy!! At the VA
hospital in White River Junction Vermont.
